This turtle including its long tail was bigger than my 7 year old granddaughter and surely weighed more.It looked like it could benefit from a few scavenger friends to help keep it clean of algae though.

To a new aquarium here. We didn't have one in our city before. Of course, it is the desert.
on the sting rays, i guess they can sting you... i didn't ask. or maybe they have done something to them so they can't. they were small ones just bigger than dinner plates.
Very cool. I think turtles are amazing. We have a safari that's a little ways away from us and they have big turtles there and one of my friends started scratching them under their necks and they loved it! They were stretching out like kitties to be rubbed :]
I think about cancer a lot too. (I hate that word!) My grandmother had a double masectomy back in the 70's and she went through a lot. Many blessings for your friend. I hope she's doing well.
